Foaming in Washing Machines

Quick Dry

If you have a garment that you need to wear urgently which is still damp, the best solution is to make small holes in a plastic bag and put the garment in it. Put the mouth of the hair dryer into the bag opening, and switch it on with the temperature setting at 'moderate heat'.In a short while the garment should be dry.

General Principles of Stain Removal

Early detection of the stains facilitate stain removal.

The passage of time and the high temperature in ironing makes stains difficult to remove.

Stains in natural fibres are harder to remove than those found in synthetic ones.

Always check the effect of the stain removal product in the flap of an item.

Applying an acidic product over an unrecognized stain can make the stain permanent.

It is better to take out the stain before washing the garment (pre-stain removal). The high temperature of the dryer with which one puts the items in can make stains permanent. This makes it harder for them to be removed especially if the stains contain albumin, tannin, sugar, cola, asphalt, silicon, paint etc… Moreover, ink stains and pigments can stain other items if placed in the same machine.

Apply stain removal products over the stain and immediately wash them off. If the stain diminishes repeat the operation one more time.

Establish a strict separation between water and dissolvents. Once the stained part is treated in water, one has to dry the item very well before starting the stain removal treatment with dissolvents and vice versa. In the same manner, the stained part treated in water has to be dried very well before putting the item in the dryer.

It is better to continue with a determined form of removing stains when has obtained good results. One only changes method when the desired effect is no longer achieved with the old method.

Make sure that the stain has been totally removed before putting the item inside the dryer. This is the only way to avoid repetition of the stain removal process.

It is possible to achieve a post-stain removal, even without "stain rings" being seen, if one works with a carefully planned technique.

Stain removal in fabrics with delicate material (wool or silk) should be done in the most delicate way possible. Never scratch, scrape or brush the fabric.

Never take risks. One has to know each item and the fabric it is made of before stain removal treatment. Each stain is different from another.
