If the same piece of clothing fades (I mean colors are run) or colors of two garments blend...I've always wondered if there are different types of fading, because it is clear that not all of them can be fixed. I thought that several factors affect them, like time, type of dye, the type of fiber, etc. This certainly may be true but I can not do many general theories. I can finally talk about a difference, I asked an expert-in theory and in practice-, and he said the following:
1) Home remedies are the usual:
a) If the garment has faded with itself, put it enough time with some water, some vinegar and many ice cubes.
b) If it has faded with another garment, (if you can because of fiber), bring water to a boil with eggshells, and put it a little, sometimes it loses what it has taken. Then pass it to a bowl of hot water with some vinegar.
2) There are some commercial stain removals "almost infallible" I have taken away discolorations with them they were not going with anything, but they are professionals. I know some boxes with a cotton cloth inside to wash together the garment are sold, sometimes also has worked....
