Washing clothes at home ...

Some time ago we published an entry about the characteristics of the industrial laundries. This time we will remain at family level and here you can read what you should have at home for laundry care (personal and household)

The washing area should have good lighting

In the wash area, we recommend that you have:

1) A washer (family size 5 or 6 kg)
2) A dryer (preferably with the same capacity of the machine). One may ask themselves whether they need a dryer. Lots of clothes can be dried in the air, on the line. But it is also true that there are clothes that only look good if dried in the dryer (for example, towels)
3) A sink to treat the clothes or wash them before hand (better if you have hot and cold water). It may seem that nowadays there is no need to treat the clothes  beforehand, because there are very good products that save us from this job. This is true but nevertheless if we want the clothing to be clean, it is  better once in a while to treat them. For example, collars and cuffs of  white or light coloured shirts, grease stains, blood stains etc..
4) A closet or shelf for products, soaps,  stain removal products etc
5) An iron, ironing board
6) An area for hanging clothes (the clothes that will not dry or will dry in a short time)
7) It is good to have  baskets to separate the clothes before washing (for example, white and other colors)
8) The area should have good lighting, both to see the stains before washing and also to see if the clothes are really clean.
