Possible "accidents" in clothes

Two possible reasons for Yellowish clothes:
1) The accumulation of detergent.
In this case would be convenient to use powdered softener used for dishwashers.
2) The excessive use of bleaching products.
The fabric may break, depending on the concentration of bleach that we use. To prevent this:
a) Use the amount of detergent recommended by the manufacturer (Use the measuring device usually provided)
b) Do not use bleach excessively because it weakens the cloth’s fibers.
c) Rinse the clothes thoroughly (Washing machines are usually programmed to rinse clothes four or five times. If clothes are to be washed by hand, it must be done at least three times)

Two possible reasons for Grayish clothes:
1) The excessive use of fabric softener.
The remedy would be to wash it several times without the fabric conditioner.
2) The excessive use of detergents with optical brighteners (also called fluorescent brighteners or optical whiteners).
In the case of white clothes that have turned grayish due to over use of optical brighteners, one should opt to use detergent with chemical bleach for a given period.

Tears or snags
Some delicate items should be washed inside a net to prevent snagging (e.g. garments with lace, bead accessories and the like).
Garments with designs in relief are better washed inside out in order to avoid the friction with other garments.
The silk should be washed by hand. Do not machine wash or machine dry.

Enhance the COLOR
To wash colored garments, never use detergents with brighteners (whether chemical or optical). Read the composition of the detergent.
When washing colored garments with a washing machine, use a cupful of kitchen vinegar instead of using a fabric softener to enhance the color of the fabric.

Faded Clothes
Before washing a garment, always check for color fastness.
New garments, especially if it has an intense color (red, pink, green, blue, etc.) should be washed by hand the first time.

If the color of the garment has faded, try the following options to revive the color:
- Soak the garment in salt water with ice over a period of time (e.g. overnight)
- Place the garment in boiling water containing several egg shells
