Table clothes with tradition

We call table clothes with tradition those table clothes that belong to our family or that are complicated to wash and iron. The are usually made of thread or cotton and sometimes have laces, embroidery etc. They may have yellow stains with result from oxidized grease for lack of a good rinse. In this case one has to remove the stains.

Removing the stains
For new stains see the table of removal of stains
For old yellow stains: damp the stains then put out in the sun.
Another option is to treat with bleach if the cloth is white in colour.

Washing
Use the detergent for white fabrics
If it has embroidery or laces, wash by hand or select a light program in the washing machine (For example, of while which has little centrifuga) One can also select the one of sintetic fibre.
The temperature can be between 30º and 40º.
If the thread goes well put in water that has starch.

To iron
Iron damp at maximum temperature.
Start ironing from the wrong side. It is better to iron on a table with a good layering underneath  ( This way the embroidery can be seen). Inorder to store and that the foldings do not remain very visible one can interlase with silk paper.
